Assessment of Transit Oriented Development in Colombia

Bogota, Cali and Medellin

Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is recognized as a globally relevant urban model that can address a range of complex, interdependent challenges resulting from population growth and urbanization. The model has direct localized impacts on emissions mitigation, traffic reduction and livability with collateral benefits in terms of economic opportunity, social equity and community resilience. AISD conducted assessments of the Colombia’s TOD plans under its Low Emissions Development (LED) strategy funded by the UN Facility for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA), including the cities of Medellin, Bogota, and Cali.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
